Commercial and Residential Preventative Maintenance

Picture
If you asked his kids and his wife, they would say that Laurence was a tight wad.  He never turned on the heat in the winter, nor the air conditioner in the summer.  If his wife happened to turn on the heat, he’d come behind her and turn it off.  If his kids turned on the air while he was at work, they knew to promptly turn it off before he returned home.  Then global warming happened and Laurence could not longer be the temperature Nazi that he was before.  Winters were colder and summers were hotter.  Temperatures were so sporadic, the world had trouble keeping up.

Scheduled Maintenance Plans
After years of neglect and lack of use, Larry’s HVAC system was in dire need of maintenance, upgrades and repairs.  When his wife contacted Austin Premier Heating and Air Conditioning for maintenance, Larry was up in arms.  Our technicians were able to convince him that a regularly scheduled maintenance plan would save him money in the long run.  It wasn’t just lip service.  Everything we shared up cutting costs, checking filters and efficiency was the absolute truth.  With Larry’s heating and cooling system operating at peak condition, he was able to save hundreds of dollars annually in utilities.

Check Filters
Normally, our technicians check, clean and reinstall filters without incident.  Larry and his family occupied their home for over twenty years.  The filters were done – end of discussion.  Fortunately, his wife gave us the low down before we arrived.  With the serial number, make and model of their system, the technician was prepared with new filters.  Later in the week, Larry’s wife phoned to give us an update.  She told us that her daughter’s asthma improved, she was able to sleep better and Larry’s mood was much lighter.  This is the effect clean air has on humans and animals.

Install Ultra Violet Lighting
One of the things that is rarely mentioned is how service providers must negotiate various personalities.  This is where excellent soft skills come in.  Larry’s wife was convinced they needed ultra violet lighting.  You guessed it, Larry was completely opposed.  He was definitely a penny pincher but he wasn’t an ogre.  Ultimately they opted for an ultra violet system.  We installed it in their ductwork.  Ultra violet lighting is instrumental in killing toxic pollutants.  The most common are dust mites, pollen, mold spores, bacteria, pet dander, odors, viruses, pesticides, carbon monoxide, exhaust and fumes, smoke, household cleaners, lead and asbestos.

Heat and Air Distribution
Where does the sun rise and set over your property?  Do your windows open?  Most commercial spaces are not afforded the opportunity to open windows.  Where is the thermostat located?  Which areas receive the most and least amount of light?  It is our job as heating and cooling experts to evaluate properties and ask the right questions.  Once we receive the necessary answers, our technicians can be about the business of correcting heat and air distribution in your home or office.  This is about fresh air, comfort, efficiency and cost.  Simply relocating the thermostat saves customers hundreds of dollars annually.
